ROOMS WITH HISTORY DESIGNED FOR YOUR REST
The peacefulness of Bachao makes tranquility and rest one of the aspects most valued by our guests. In the surroundings you will hear nothing but the sounds of nature, which will make your sleep truly restful.
Our rooms do not have numbers. We identify them with the names of historical figures closely linked to Santiago de Compostela and its Jacobean tradition. Through them, we transmit a small part of the ancient and magical history that runs from the arrival of the Apostle Santiago to Iria Flavia in a stone boat, to the current multitudinous pilgrimages.
. Monxoi. There the pilgrims see for the first time the cathedral, along the French way.
. Iria Flavia. According to tradition, there came the boat from Jaifa with the remains of Santiago Apostle.
. Felicia de Aquitania. Princess turned hermit and benefactor of pilgrims. She was killed by her brother, later repentant pilgrim to Santiago.
. Xoán Santín, The peasant origin of the holy miracle of O Cebreiro, where a chalice donated by the Catholic Monarchs is preserved.
. Conde de Altamira. Powerful house of the Galician nobility. The Count had famous clashes with Archbishop Fonseca.
. Bona de Pisa, Saint who made a pilgrimage to Santiago nine times. Patron of the pilgrims, the tourist guides and flight assistants.
. Raiña Lupa. She reigned in the Sacred Peak when the Apostle was transferred from Iria Flavia to Compostela. He tried to frustrate the transfer and ended up becoming Christianity.
. Diego Xelmirez.Azobispo medieval who managed to turn Santiago into a pilgrimage center.
. Gotescaldo, Bishop of Le Puy-en-Velay, the first international pilgrim from which you have news.
. Isabel de Portugal. Queen of Portugal, canonized devotee, who made a pilgrimage to Compostela at least twice.
