ROOMS WITH HISTORY DESIGNED FOR YOUR REST

The peacefulness of Bachao makes tranquility and rest one of the aspects most valued by our guests. In the surroundings you will hear nothing but the sounds of nature, which will make your sleep truly restful.

Our rooms do not have numbers. We identify them with the names of historical figures closely linked to Santiago de Compostela and its Jacobean tradition. Through them, we transmit a small part of the ancient and magical history that runs from the arrival of the Apostle Santiago to Iria Flavia in a stone boat, to the current multitudinous pilgrimages.

. Monxoi. There pilgrims see the Cathedral for the first time, along the French Way.
. Iria Flavia. According to tradition, the boat arrived there from Jaifa with the remains of Santiago Apóstol.
. Felicia de Aquitania. Princess turned hermit and benefactor of pilgrims. She was murdered by her brother, later a repentant pilgrim to Santiago.
. Xoán Santín, the peasant origin of the Holy Miracle of O Cebreiro, where a chalice donated by the Catholic Monarchs is preserved.
. Conde de Altamira. Powerful house of the Galician nobility. The count had notorious confrontations with Archbishop Fonseca.
. Bona de Pisa, Saint who made a pilgrimage to Santiago nine times. Patron saint of pilgrims, tour guides and flight attendants.
. Raiña Lupa. She reigned in the Sacred Peak when the Apostle was transferred from Iria Flavia to Compostela. She tried to thwart the transfer and ended up converting to Christianity.
. Diego Xelmirez. Medieval archbishop who managed to turn Santiago into a center of pilgrimages.
. Gotescaldo, Bishop of Le Puy-en-Velay, first known international pilgrim.
. Isabel de Portugal. Queen of Portugal, canonized devotee, who made a pilgrimage to Compostela at least twice.
